Playgroup Ideas needed for preschool age kids…?

I’m going to be hosting a playgroup for children between the ages of birth to 5 years. I want to do some kind of Valentine’s Day theme. At the start of the group there will be lots of toys for the kids to run around and play with, but then I need a craft, book, and some other kind of activity. The play group should be 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. It’s going to be held in a gym. Any ideas for me?

a cute craft would be:

    play doh to the rescue!!!

    How about "Simon Says"

or play some music and do the "Grand March" like at weddings with the kids…. change it up and make a bridge for them to go under……
have them actually "march" or clap to the beat……
