I need craft ideas for 2 year olds….URGENT!?

I’m taking care of a bunch of 2 year olds on valentines day, and i need something that’s not too messy and can be done by their age group. I’ve looked at finger painting and that’s way too messy for that many kids. any suggestions? i’m running out of ideas…..

Trace each child’s hand on a piece of paper and cut it out…

Glue it onto the front of the card, but do NOT glue down the middle and ring fingers – instead, fold these two down so they make the "I love you" sign… Let the kids color/decorate the inside of the cards and give them to their parents/etc…

Very fun, cute, and you get a reminder of how small their hands were at this age!

Also – they could make fruit-loop necklaces for mom… (or cheerios – use the multi-grain as they have multiple colors which is more fun for the kids) – this activity doubles as a snack!

You didn’t mention how long you needed to entertain them and how many you are working with, but you could look at using some pre-printed pictures and giving them crayons and pencils to colour in. There is also the option of playdough – kids love playing with it and it is not messy, it is inexpensive to make, and you can do lots of fun things with it (use cookie cutters, etc). Or making some cookies. Kids don’t need to actually make them, but they love getting involved with stirring them up and then decorating with sprinkles, etc once they are cut and on the tray, and then showing off what they made to their parents.

You could have them make jewelry out of macaroni.

A white piece of paper, non-toxic craft glue and little pieces of colorful paper in various shapes – keeps him busy for as long as the glue holds out.

Draw the outline of an apple on a large piece of paper and have him either fill in the apple or outline the apple with dot-shaped stickers in whatever color you have/want.

Take two paper plates and staple them together putting beans or rice in the middle. Let the child paint or glue or put stickers and ribbon on the outside making their own tambourine".

    Hope this helps!

Buy a tub of foam stickers and have them make a card or a picture with them. You can also give them some crayons and let them color valentine pictures.
